A device for forming condensation 10 or ice on a surface 2a comprises means for controlling the formation of condensation or ice in response to humidity in the ambient air. The device may include a sensor for monitoring the humidity in the ambient air, where the control means controls formation of condensation or ice on the surface in response to the detected humidity. The condensation or ice may be formed by controlling circulation of coolant in a circuit 8 with a flow restrictor operable by a stepper motor in response to a feedback signal from the humidity sensor. Alternatively the condensation or ice may be formed by controlling a thermoelectric device with a regulator operable in response to a feedback signal from the humidity sensor. The device may be used in connection with a font for dispensing beverages. |
