A transportable heat engine comprises a sealed chamber 602 with a heat input device 604 for supplying heat to the engine and a heat output device. A working fluid contained within the chamber 602 vaporises when in contact with said heat input device and condenses when in contact with said heat output device. A first turbine 607 is rotated by flow of vaporised working fluid, and a cowl turns the working fluid so that it passes through a second turbine 606 in the opposite direction. The heater 604 may be provided in the centre of the chamber and supplied with solar heat, and the cooler may be located outside the heater 604. The second turbine 606 may be concentrically outside the first turbine 607. The engine may be used on a boat and the cooler may be supplied with water from the environment. |
