Metal-effect pigments (I) with a platelike metal core (A) and a homogeneous synthetic resin coating (B), in which the coating (B) contains (b1) polyacrylate and/or polymethacrylate and (b2) organofunctional silane. Independent claims are included for (1) a method for the production of (I) by coating the core (A) uniformly in presence of (b1) and (b2) (2) coating systems containing (I) (3) objects coated with these coating systems .
