A connector for a flat tape comprises a block having a wedge-shaped aperture therethrough adapted to receive a wedge member around which the tape is wrapped. Two embodiments are shown, one, Fig. 2, for gripping two tape ends, and the other, Fig. 4, for gripping a single tape end. The wedge is crowned slightly so that the tape is initially gripped in the middle of its section, or the wedge-shaped aperture may be crowned, as shown in Fig. 3, for the same purpose. In the second embodiment the block has an attaching device 58 which may be swung clear of the tape by the removal of a pin 62 but when swung into the operative position, shown by the full lines in Fig. 4 may have a pad of resilient material placed between it and the tape loop to prevent the grip being inadvertently loosed through shock. |
