[Also in Division A4] In a frame structure two angle section bars I are bolted together with a junction plate 6 interposed between overlying webs of the bars, the junction plate and the bars having ribs and grooves on opposite faces which interengage, and the plate being usable in a left hand or a right hand corner of the structure. The ribs on one limb of an an angle section may be on the outside face and the ribs on the other limb of the same section may be on the inside face as shown in Fig. 1 and the plate 6 then has ribs and grooves on both faces; or the ribs may be on both outside faces of the angle bar (Fig. 9) and the plate 6 then has grooves on one side and ribs on the other. The plate may be polygonal or in the form of washers (Figs. 6, 7, 8) or triangular (Fig. 14). The plate may have only two intersecting grooves and the grooves may be oriented at 60 or 90 degrees.</p> |
