A digital broadcasting receiver with the enhanced reception performance and a signal processing method thereof are provided to insert the known data into the VSB(Vestigial Side Band) data stream and then to transmit the inserted data in a poor multi-path channel. A randomizing member(610) randomizes the transport stream with the inserted stuff byte to a predetermined position. A stuff byte exchange member(620) exchanges the stuff byte included into the output data into known data. An RS encoding member(630) performs an RS encoding of the data outputted from the stuff byte exchange member. An interleaving member(640) performs an interleaving process of the data outputted from the RS encoding member. An RS parity producing member(660) produces a parity on the basis of the data outputted from a trellis encoding member(650) and the data outputted from the RS encoding member and inputs the produced parity to the trellis encoding member. |
