APPARATUS FOR DISCRIMINATING TRANSMISSION RATES

PURPOSE: A transmission speed verifying apparatus is provided to accurately verify the transmission speed of optical signals in burst modes received in an optical receiving part by measuring the transmission speed of the signals. CONSTITUTION: A filter(210) passes a part of optical signals. A peak voltage detector(220) detects the peak voltage values of the optical signals which are passed through the filter. An integrator(230) integrates the detected peak voltage values for a pre-set period of time. A comparator(240) verifies the transmission speed of the optical signals by comparing the integrated value to a reference value for verifying the transmission speed of the signals.
