PURPOSE: A mobile terminal and a method for controlling the display of the same are provided to process various controlling operations corresponding to region touch operations on a touch screen when the region touch operations are input on the touch screen. CONSTITUTION: At least one contents are displayed on the screen part of a touch screen. A touch operation to one region of the screen part is input on the touch screen(S410). The region touch operation is analyzed based on the touch potion, the touch shape, or the moving speed of the region touch operation(S420). Based on the analysis result, the contents are controlled by using a content controlling operation corresponding to the region touch operation(S430, S440).
