Method and system for testing objects with a gas barrier coating

The method involves recording the images of the items (5) that are coated with a gas barrier layer in the region of invisible light, by using an image recording module (6). The recorded images are processed by a processing module (7), such that the defective items coated with gas barrier layer are detected. The base layer and gas barrier layer are made of different materials. The thickness of the gas barrier layer is determined based on the processed images of items. An independent claim is included for system for testing item coated with gas barrier layer.
