An equipment stand 2, e.g. for safety equipment which can be positioned at some point in a field, comprises ground engagement means 6, a stabilisation means such as a circular planar plate 8 and a support post 4. The plate 8 may be rigidly attached to support post 4 by, for example, welding one or more spokes and support hooks 10 are provided on opposite sides of the post 4. Apertures 12 in the post 4 allow a rod to be inserted which is used to screw the ground engagement means 6 into/out of the ground. The ground engagement means 6 may be formed from a metal rod bent into a helix. A method of using the stand involves taking the stand 2 to a desired location, introducing the ground engagement mean 6 into the ground until the stabilisation means 8 is in contact with the ground and hanging the equipment, e.g. fire buckets/extinguisher, from the hooks 10. |
