A food packaging, comprises inner container 2 for containing a quantity of foodstuff, the container having an opening mechanism and an outer sleeve 8 which is held in place by a retaining arrangement preferably a lip 7 running around the container which the sleeve may abut against when positioned around the container. Preferably the container 2 has a tapering outer wall and the sleeve 8 is tapered to the same angle. The sleeve 8 initially blocks access to the opening mechanism so that a user is prevented from opening the container 2 without causing permanent visible damage to the sleeve 8. The sleeve 8 has a main portion 14 and a detachable portion 15 that may be partially or permanently detached. A tab may be provided to aid detachment, leaving the main portion retained in place around the container 2 and giving access to the opening mechanism of the container 2. The sleeve 8 may extend above the top of the container 2 to define a recess where further foodstuff may be contained. The container 2 may have raised members (6 figure 1) on the exterior that define air gaps for insulation between it and the sleeve 8. |
