The cooking appliance (1) comprises a cooking chamber (2) which is heated by steam of a steam source (3). A cooking level (25,26,27) is provided in the cooking chamber for cooking of food (21). A steam guide comprises steam inlet openings for uniform distribution of the steam. The cooking level is supplied with steam from top and bottom for heating. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a cooking appliance. |
