Method for controlling a flotation process

The method involves automating the supply of solid-containing pulp (P) into flotation cells (6-1,6-2). The amount of flotation agent (F) required during the execution of continuous or discontinuous flotation process is analyzed quantitatively based on the previously stored analysis result. The flow direction of solid-containing pulp is determined prior to the analysis process. The analysis process is performed prior to the introduction of pulp into flotation cells and/or after the removal of pulp from the flotation cells. An independent claim is included for floatation plant.
