CERMET BODY AND A METHOD OF MAKING A CERMET BODY

PURPOSE: A cermet body and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to employ Nb and reduce the total grain size without reduction of hardness or binder content. CONSTITUTION: A cermet body comprises TiC and WC at an atomic ratio(Ti/C) of 2-5, Co as binder at a content of 5-25 vol%, one or more V group elements(Mx) of periodic table at an atomic ratio(Ti/Mx) of 4-20 and an atomic ratio(W/Mx) of 1-6, and Cr at an atomic ratio(Ce/Co) of 0.025-0.14. The cermet has no nitrogen.
