PURPOSE: A shock absorber having power generation function is provided to reduce fuel consumption by supplying electric power to the electric elements or the charging device of a vehicle by generating electric power through the moving of a shock absorber in the uneven ground. CONSTITUTION: A shock absorber(1) having power generation function comprises an actuating tube(12), a piston rod(20), a piston valve(30), a magnet column(50), and a conductor(60). The piston rod is moved up and down through being inserted in the actuating tube to be slid. The piston rod comprises a hollow(21) into longitudinal direction. The piston valve is coupled with the exterior of the piston rod in the actuating tube. The magnet column is fixed in the actuating tube and located into longitudinal direction. The conductor is winded into coil shape and located in the hollow for covering the magnet column. The conductor generates electric power with a magnet column according to the moving of the piston rod.
