PURPOSE: A backlight unit for a road/traffic information image display system of a road surface and the road/traffic information image display system including the same are provided to secure strong brightness and directivity, thereby easily providing information accessibility and visibility for drivers. CONSTITUTION: A heat dissipation cooler(320) is installed on one side of a light emitting module(310). The heat dissipation cooler discharges heat from the light emitting module to the outside. A convergent lens(330) is installed on the other side of the light emitting module. The convergent lens collects light from the light emitting module with a predetermined angle.
