PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for recognizing bar-codes are provided to recognize the bar-codes by detecting the peak of a white module and a black module and estimating the sizes of the modules. CONSTITUTION: An extracting part(10) selects the X-axial date of an Y-axis in the (X,Y) region of a bar-code. The extracting part interpolates the X-axial data. A restoring part(20) detects the peaks of the black module and the white module in the bar-code. The restoring part restores the bar-code signals of an estimating target. A decoding part(30) extracts binary-coded data based on the width estimation of the black module and the white module. The decoding part decodes the binary-coded data to American standard code for information exchange(ACSII). |
