PURPOSE: A circuit for a backup battery is provided to supply control power through a battery by sensing power outage. CONSTITUTION: A backup battery(6) is charged through an overcharge protection unit(40) by the input terminal voltage of a voltage adjusting unit(2). The overcharge protection unit is formed by serially interlinking resistance(R4), protective resistance(R5), and a transistor(Q3). A controller(50) senses the state of power which is provided to a backup battery charging circuit. The controller determines the charge state of the backup battery. The controller outputs a control command according to the charge state of the backup battery.
