SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ROAMING TCP CONNECTIONS BETWEEN CHANGING PHYSICAL NETWORKS

PURPOSE: A system and a method for roaming TCP connection when physical networks change are provided to eliminate the development necessity of an application by using a simple and special platform. CONSTITUTION: A system for roaming TCP connection includes a Virtual NIC(Network Interface Card) having a unique IP(Internet Protocol) address. TCP connection 4-tuples of a source IP, a source port, a destination port, and a destination IP are maintained without changes. The Virtual NIC has a form of TUN(as in network TUNnel)/TAP(as in network TAP) apparatuses. The system is used in a network environment of severe noise in which physical connection is cut for a short time. The system selects the best physical network and roaming alternative forms by optimizing costs and bandwidths to the other alternative form without connection failure.
