PURPOSE: A gas boiler and a control method thereof, in which output is freely controlled are provided to improve the performance of a boiler by increasing a turndown ratio. CONSTITUTION: A gas boiler, in which output is freely controlled comprises a blower(10), a gas valve(20), a burner(30), a combustion chamber(40), and an exhaust hood(60). Air passing through the blower, and combustion gas passing through the gas valve are burned in the combustion chamber, and then the gas and air are discharged outside the boiler through a heat exchanger(50), and the exhaust hood. Flow controllers are formed between the blower and the exhaust hood. The flow controllers control the flow rate of fluids in portion to the output value of the boiler in a range that the output value of the boiler is less than a limit output value.
