摘要 An LCD and a driving method thereof are provided to selectively realizing a display mode and a scan mode, and improve quality of a color scan image by dividing white light emitted from a backlight unit into red, green, and blue lights in the scan mode. An array substrate includes a first transparent insulating substrate, a display thin film transistor(130) including a plurality of sub-pixels on the first transparent insulating substrate and applying a gradation voltage to each sub pixel, a sensor thin film transistor(140) outputting a current of incident light, a storage capacitor(150) storing a current outputted from the sensor thin film transistor, and a switching thin film transistor(160) transmitting a current stored in the storage capacitor. A color filter substrate includes a second transparent insulating substrate facing the first transparent insulating substrate, and red, green and blue color filters alternately formed on the second transparent insulating substrate and facing the sub pixels, respectively. A liquid crystal layer is filled between the color filter substrate and the array substrate. A backlight unit emits white light to the array substrate. A display mode and a scan mode are selectively driven, and white light emitted from the backlight unit is divided into single-colored light of red, green and blue by applying different gradation voltages to the display thin film transistor in the scan mode.
