PURPOSE: An electric rice cooker having a light emitting device is provided to protect a light emitting device from the heat for heating a container body by forming a protective body with a tempered glass or a fireproofing acryl inside a cover body. CONSTITUTION: An electric rice cooker having a light emitting device comprises a container body(1), a cover body(2), a power line(3), a light emitting device(10), and a control device. Rice and water for cooking the rice are accommodated in the container body. The cover body opens and closes the container body. The power line supplies electricity so that the container body is heated through electric resistance to cook the rice. The light emitting device is located at the bottom of the cover body and receives the electricity from the power line to light inside the container body. The control device drives the light emitting device.
