An apparatus detecting medium thickness by detecting dislocation amount of the rollers where the detection rollers (34a to 34f) displaced elastically, by installing in an opposing way the dislocation detection sensors (33a to 331) by the detection rollers (34a to 34f), and by variation of a magnetic field, which was generated from a coil of each of said dislocation detection sensors (33a to 331), provided in an opposing way; which classifies a plurality of the dislocation detection sensors (33a to 331) aligned along an axis direction of said detection rollers (34a to 34f), to non-adjacent groups a and b, which are classified by each of non-adjacent groups themselves which are not adjacent in said alignment direction, and switches said non-adjacent groups a and b for acquiring said roller dislocation amount. |
