PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device and a driving method thereof are provided to improve product safety by preventing operation of a liquid crystal panel with a driving frequency which is not predetermined. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal panel(2) defines a pixel which is an intersection of a plurality of data lines and a plurality of gate lines. A timing controller(8) outputs a plurality of data control signals and a plurality of gate control signals. The timing controller outputs image data to an interface of a tandem system. A comparator(10) outputs an AC or DC setback signal. A data drive part(6) restores the image data of the tandem system to a concurrent system. The data drive part converts the restored image data into data voltage. The data drive part supplies the converted data voltage to the plurality of data lines.
