PURPOSE: A planar display device for a vehicle having a trapezoidal shape compensating function is provided to supply optimized display to a driver by compensating display output through a graphic compensating function and change compensating values according to variable conditions of drivers. CONSTITUTION: A planar display device(10) for a vehicle having a trapezoidal shape compensating function comprises a viewing angle varying element detection unit(8), a planar display unit(2), a display driving unit(20), a key input unit(18), a data storage unit(22), and a control unit(24). The viewing angle varying element detection unit detects the viewing angle varying element according to the posture or view height of a driver. The key input unit inputs upper and lower portion compensating signals for making the trapezoidal shaped graphic into rectangular shape on the planar display unit. The control unit compensates display data according to the saved compensating information in the data storage unit and controls the planar display unit. And the control unit changes compensating information in case of variation signals applied.
