PURPOSE: A device and a method for calculating average fuel efficiency considering inertial motion are provided to prevent drivers from becoming confused by exactly calculating real fuel efficiency. CONSTITUTION: A device for calculating average fuel efficiency considering inertial motion comprises a speed sensor(4), an engine ECU(6), a data storage unit(8), and a controller(14). The engine ECU offers information on the amount of consumed fuel. The data storage unit inputs the information about a car speed and the amount of the consumed fuel, and comprises calculation algorithm. The data storage unit stores mileage information by accumulatively calculating the information. The controller calculates average fuel efficiency about an inertial mileage and a real mileage by operating the calculation algorithm. |
