摘要 PURPOSE: A method of reducing the surface defect of thin-slab hot coil is provided to enhance product reliability and consumer satisfaction by supplying hot coil of a quality level matching the needs of a consumer. CONSTITUTION: A method of reducing the surface defect of thin-slab hot coil comprises the following steps. Cu equivalent of steel ingot is calculated. The calculated Cu equivalent and the thickness of coil to be produced are substituted to the formula (Cu equivalent ×100)+(1.5×coil thickness) to obtain a corrected value A. The A is applied to the formula 0.0067×A2-0.088×A to obtain a scale-defect index. The surface defect of the thin-slab hot coil is predicted based on the scale-defect index, and the thickness of coil to be produced is re-determined and hot-rolled so that surface defect is prevented.
