An LCD device and a driving method thereof are provided to prevent power loss by automatically controlling a high level voltage according to the magnitude of white and black data. An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device includes an LCD panel(110), a timing controller(210), a high level voltage control unit(220), and a high level voltage supplying unit(230). The LCD panel includes plural data lines(DL1~DLm). The timing controller controls a high level voltage value according to the magnitude of white and black data, which are supplied to the data lines. The high level voltage control unit controls the generation of a high level source voltage(VDD) under the control of the timing controller. The high level voltage supplying unit supplies the high level source voltage, which has the high level source voltage value controlled by the high level voltage control unit. |
