TRANSGENIC CATS EXPRESSING RED FLUORESCENCE PROTEIN AND PRODUCING METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A transgenic cat which expresses red fluorescent proteins and a method for producing the same are provided to obtain a cat in which red fluorescent protein gene is introduced. CONSTITUTION: A method for producing a cloned cat to express red fluorescent proteins comprises: a step of isolating somatic cells from a cat; a step of preparing a red fluorescent protein expressing pLHCRW vector containing a CMV promoter of sequence number 1, DsRed gene of sequence number 2, and WPRE of sequence number 3; a step of performing transfection of the expression vector pLHCRW to retrovirus packaging cells to prepare LHCRW virus; a step of infecting the LHCRW virus to isolated somatic cells; a step of removing nucleus from a cat ovum and performing electrofusion with transformed somatic cells and activating; a step of isolating transformed embryo based on red fluorescent protein expression and culturing the embryo at blastocyst state; and a step of collecting the blastocyst and transplating the blastocyst to the uterine tube of a surrogate cat.
