PURPOSE: A mold powder supply device, a control method thereof, and a recording medium recorded with program for embodying the same are provided to control an initial solidification layer to a proper size by supplying mold powder properly to the surface of melt according to casting conditions. CONSTITUTION: A mold powder supply device comprises a mold powder chamber(10), a feeder unit(20), and an actuator(60). The mold powder chamber accommodates mold powder. The feeder unit includes a supply pipe which transfers the mold powder supplied from the mold powder chamber through the inner hollow to the exit(23) so that the mold powder is discharged through the exit. The actuator changes the position of the exit of the feeder unit in normal or reverse order according to position information input in sequence.
