SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETECTING OBJECT OF VEHICLE SURROUNDINGS

PURPOSE: A system and a method for detecting object of vehicle surroundings are provided to reliably detect objects around the vehicle by selectively applying object detection algorithm. CONSTITUTION: A system for detecting object of vehicle surroundings comprises a camera module, an object detection module, and an obstacle decision module. The camera module records around the vehicle by being installed in a vehicle(10). The object detection module applies a first object detection algorithm to recorded image. The object detection module detects objects within specified area. The object detection module applies a second object detection algorithm to recorded image. The object detection module detects objects from a domain which has certain distance from the vehicle. The obstacle decision module decides whether the detected object is obstacle or not.
