PURPOSE: A forming method of an alignment layer for a liquid crystal is provided to include a process which forms a mask, a process which forms a fixation film to an exposed part of the substrate, a process which forms the polymer brush on the fixation film, and a process which removes the mask from a substrate in which the polymer brush is formed. CONSTITUTION: A forming method of an alignment layer for a liquid crystal includes the following: a process that forms a mask(12) in a part where a polymer brush(13) is unnecessary on the substrate(10); a process that forms a fixation film(11) to an exposure part of the substrate; a process that forms a polymer brush on the fixation film by a living radical polymerization reaction of the radical polymer monomer; and a process that removes the mask from a substrate in which the polymer brush is formed. |
