PURPOSE: A method and a system for outdoor place recognition and walking assistance of the blind are provided to be helpful to the real life by giving good information to the blind. CONSTITUTION: A system for outdoor place recognition and walking assistance of the blind comprises: a place recognition device capable of analyzing a place by using an image inputted from a camera mounted on a helmet or a hat; a recognition unit(100) including an indication recognizer; a voice output unit(200) which is delivered with place and indication information and provides the information in a voice signal form; and a GPS transceiver(300) for transferring exact direction and distance information.
