The method involves providing information e.g. URL, in a file of an electronic label, where the file is provided with a part of information (PART URL), and another part of information (ADDI URL) is recorded in the same file during activation. The recording of information is provided independent of a communication protocol between the electronic label and a near-field communication device i.e. router. The former part is recorded in a field of the file, and the latter part is recorded in another field of the file. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method of operating a service associated with the purchase of a product (2) an activation system for a service associated with an electronic label.
