The wing (1) has a wing part (4) fixed on a support part (5) of a case of a vehicle, where the case is located under a bonnet and the wing is made of plastic or light-weight metal i.e. aluminum, having thermal expansion coefficient different from that of a steel sheet. The wing part is pre-equipped with a rigid strip (6) that is fixed on the support part. The strip is fixed with the wing part through a fixing unit (7) such that the wing is allowed to slide relative to the strip along a predetermined stroke along vehicle longitudinal direction (X). The strip is made of plastic or metal. An independent claim is also included for a method for assembling a front wing on a motor vehicle.
