Composition (A) comprises, in a medium, at least one oxidation base comprising 2-[[2-(4-amino-phenylamino)-ethyl]-(2-hydroxy-ethyl)-amino]-ethanol (I) and its addition salts, solvates and solvates of its salts; and at least one coupler comprising cationic aminopyridine derivatives (II), and their addition salts, or solvates and its salts.
