<p>The method involves allowing passage of air to be treated through two dripping biofilters (1, 2) that are connected in series, where the biofilters comprise mineral or synthetic linings (1c, 2c) containing inert and basifying compounds, respectively. One of the biofilters is enabled to function at an acid pH value ranging between 0.5 and 6 to mainly treat hydrogen sulfide. The other biofiler is enabled to function at another acid pH value ranging between 5 and 8 to treat sulfurated compound e.g. mercaptan. The basifying compound is chosen from a group comprising calcite, marble, mollusk shell, calcite and inert material compound, marble and inert material compound and mollusk shell and inert material compound. An independent claim is also included for an installation for eliminating hydrogen sulfide and mercaptan from air by biological treatment.</p> |
