The satellite has beam receivers e.g. input demultiplexer (30) and amplifier (40), connected to a single or double polarization reception antenna system (10), and a single or double polarization transmission antenna system (60) connected to the receivers. Flexible receivers (35) are connected to the systems. Each flexible receiver includes a radiofrequency processor to filter and select from one of a set of frequency channels to dynamically allocate the frequency channel to one beam of the systems. Amplification modules amplify the channels. Each module is common to two of the channels.
