The unit has a current measuring device (20) that is formed of a Hall effect sensor (19) and arranged at proximity of a switchable main current path (17) in a case of the unit. The current measuring device is applied to auxiliary connectors (16) of the unit. An activation element (11) e.g. cut-off button, is provided at an upper side of the unit to manually cut the current path. The current path is electrically switched by a coil or an actuator. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for determining a charge state of a drive battery of a handling trolley supplied with power by an electric battery (2) a handling trolley comprising a drive battery.
