<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photonic crystal surface emission laser array in which laser light emitted from one photonic crystal surface emission laser and arriving at the other photonic crystal surface emission laser arranged in the proximity to the one photonic crystal surface emission laser is reduced. <P>SOLUTION: The photonic crystal in a photonic crystal surface emission laser is a photonic crystal of tetragonal lattice or hexagonal lattice.
