<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently produce cutting seedlings of plants of the genus Eucalyptus by selecting and obtaining scions with a high rooting ability. <P>SOLUTION: Such a cutting seedling that the cross sectional area of a scion is in the range from 4.5 mm<SP POS="POST">2</SP>to 20.5 mm<SP POS="POST">2</SP>, and that the rate of a wood portion is in the range from 0.15 to 0.48 is used.
