The present invention relates to an LED lighting apparatus driven by alternating current, wherein the LED lighting apparatus comprises: a rectifier circuit for rectifying alternating voltage into rectified direct voltage; an LED block which serves as a load that receives current from the rectifier circuit, and which has one or more LEDs; a current source for controlling the current being supplied to the LED block; and a controller which calculates a designed sine wave current value based on the alternating voltage, and provides the current source with the calculated designed current value such that the voltage drop at the current source can be adjusted when the current being supplied to the LED block is larger than said designed current value, and then only the designed current value can be provided to the LED block. Thus, the designed current may be changed when the alternating voltage changes, so as to maintain the brightness of the LED lighting apparatus at a constant level. |
