The method involves guiding exhaust air (40) from a drying device of a production machine to a heat exchanger (6) i.e. plate heat exchanger and tube bundle heat exchanger, that heats condensate or water (20) by heat output from the exhaust air. The water is included to a condensate-steam circuit of a power station, and the hot water is conveyed as feed water (22) to a steam generator (1) of the power station and as steam over a steam turbine (2), where the water in the heat exchanger has absolute pressure of less than 1 bar. An independent claim is also included for a device for heat generation from exhaust air of paper-, cardboard-, tissue- or pulp production machine.
