<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a polyarylene sulfide which can obtain a polyarylene sulfide which is excellent in chemical resistance, a mechanical characteristic or the like by mild and short-time heat treatment. <P>SOLUTION: The polyarylene sulfide is obtained by heating a polyarylene sulfide prepolymer which includes at least 50 wt.% of a cyclic polyarylene sulfide and whose weight-average molecular weight is less than 10,000 under the oxidizing atmosphere. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
