CELLULOSE ACYLATE FILM, PRODUCTION METHOD OF CELLULOSE ACYLATE FILM, AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cellulose acylate film showing no irregularity at an end portion even when the film is used as a protective film for a backlight side polarizing plate, and to provide a production method of the cellulose acylate film, and a liquid crystal display device using the cellulose acylate film.

SOLUTION: The cellulose acylate film contains cellulose acylate. When indices of birefringence within the film plane are measured, the film satisfies nx>ny, where nx and ny are refractive indices in directions perpendicular to each other. When dimensional variations in the nx and ny directions are denoted by Sx and Sy, respectively, the film satisfies Sx>Sy.
