<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily select and specify desired data and to simply perform paste processing without deterioration in usability even when a data processing device reads and saves many data of different kinds on images, documents, etc., and performs selective paste processing. <P>SOLUTION: When an arbitrary data range is specified and copying or cutting is instructed on a data display screen G consisting of a document data display Ga and an image data display Gb, range-specified object data is extracted and moved to a character window wa, an image window wb, or a file window wc displayed on the same data display screen G corresponding to attributes of the object data to be displayed and saved.
