<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PM sensor and a method for manufacturing a PM sensor having high detection sensitivity and capable of detecting a PM load locally accumulating on a DPF (diesel particulate filter). <P>SOLUTION: The PM sensor 1 detects an amount of particulate matters collected in a passage 3 of a DPF 4 having the passage 3 enclosed by a plurality of partition walls 2 made of a porous material, in which the plurality of partition walls 2 of the DPF 4 comprise a plurality of partition walls 2 having embedded electrodes 5 and a plurality of partition walls 2 having no embedded electrodes 5.
