PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a particle counting method that permits more accurate counting of the number of particles by distinguishing the waveform of scattered light attributable to ordinary particles, which are to be counted, from the waveform of scattered light attributable to disturbances, such as floating particles or variations in the intensity of irradiation light, such as radiation.
SOLUTION: By a particle counting method of irradiating sample gas with light, detecting with a photoelectric transducer the scattered light generated by the hitting of this light against particles contained in the sample gas and counting the number of particles in each particle grain class according to the output voltage waveform of this photoelectric transducer, the time difference (Ta-T1) between the point of time (T1) at which the output voltage waveform reaches its peak and the point of time (Ta) at which the waveform reaches a fall detection threshold (A) and the output voltage waveform is not counted as a particle if this time difference (Ta-T1) surpasses a counting cancellation time (B).
COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
