This electricity-generation system is provided with: a fuel-cell system (101) that has a fuel cell (11) and a housing (12); a ventilation fan (13); a control device (102); a combustion device (103); and an exhaust passage (70) that is provided so as to connect the aforementioned housing (12) to an exhaust port (103A) in the combustion device (103) and is designed so as to discharge an exhaust gas from the fuel-cell system (101) and an exhaust gas from the combustion device (103) into the atmosphere via openings therein. The ventilation fan (13) is designed so as to ventilate the interior of the housing (12) by expelling gases from inside the housing (12) to the exhaust passage (70). The control device (102) is designed so as to operate the ventilation fan (13) at at least a prescribed pressure when electricity generation in the fuel-cell system (101) is stopped and the combustion device (103) is running.
