PURPOSE: Apparatus and method for controlling projecting images without using an interface device are provided to use a human body as a pointer for forming shadows and controlling the projecting images. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for controlling projecting images comprises the following: a shadow producing unit(100) interprets a shadow on an input image; a projected image control unit(120) controlling the projecting images by using the interpretation of the shadow; an image projecting unit projecting the projecting images to a screen; and an image photographing unit forming the shadow from a pointer on one side of the screen, and photographing an image including the projecting images and the shadow.
